The Take it away scheme makes it easy for young people to realise their musical
dreams.
Take it away is an Arts Council England initiative created to help young people
to get involved in learning and playing a musical instrument. To be eligible the
applicant must be a UK resident, working at least 16 hours per week, and be either
18-25 years old, or over 18 and buying an instrument for a child under 18.
Under the Take It Away scheme an application can be made for up to £2,000 of interest
free credit for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument. A 10% deposit is
required with the balance paid in 9 equal monthly instalments by direct debit, completely
interest free.
Equipment, accessories and music books can be included as part of the purchase so
the player will have everything necessary to get started.
